Now entering a thirteenth straight hour of work. Occasional stops for food don't count.

Someone tell me how The Simpsons were tonight.

"The reigning economic system is founded on isolation; at the same time it is a circular process designed to produce isolation. Isolation underpins technology, and technology isolates in its turn; all goods proposed by the spectacular system, from cars to television, also serve as weapons for that system as it strives to reinforce the isolation of 'the lonely crowd.' The spectacle is continually rediscovering its own basic assumptions - and each time in a more concrete manner." ~ Guy Debord

"They are THE OPPORTUNISTS, those souls who in life were neither for good nor evil but who took no sides in the Rebellion of the Angels. They are neither in Hell nor out of it. Eternally unclassified, they race round and round pursuing a wavering banner that runs forever before them through the dirty air..." ~ John Ciardi

Two contests to ready Food Bed Gospel for. Currently taking bets on how the MS will fare. The odds that it'll win the day are not in your favor - let's call them at 800 to 1 - but brother will they pay.

  • Here's the thing. There may be 801 horses in a race, but if 800 of them have broken legs and write bad poetry, only the one that has all four legs up and runnin' and writes good poetry is going to win the race ;o).

How do you like them horses?

a.k.a. Shut up. You rock. It's in the proverbial BAG.

  • Just wanted to wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving, W., before I head south to Annapolis and get spun up in the usual quagmire of: triptophan, Ray Lewis mania, hair coloring smells, Windex, and suburbanite faux snow at the mall. Be well, and eat well, and best of luck with those contests (your odds are better than most, you know).

And oh yes: it's been awhile, so lessa talk, Chief, why not? Specifically about the Bros. Karamazov, while we're at it. And maybe about the merits of New England microbrews, for good measure.

More soon, via one medium or another. Take care and have a lovely holiday!
