These triple digits!
Air ducts, shoddily designed,
Bring in the desert.

But then again, even mentioning the weather in this town's like mentioning the traffic on L.I.: since it's so par for the course, it marks one as new.

Donne & Hopkins on the mind. Batter my heart, three-personed God, sprung rhythm and the like. Which might stem, also, from the heat.

And what is sprung rhythm if not good ol' Anglo-Saxon accentual verse extended to five beats?

They say the dry heat is more bearable than the humidity of the east coast. What say you?

I say the heat is bearable, if you're inside to the maximum amt. possible & if you have one of those reflective sunshields to place on your car's dash. Otherwise, death.
& those Anglo-Saxons did know their stuff. Very martial work. Very mace-on-shield sounding.
